The short version

The Love New York app is designed to be private by default. It requires no account and no sign-in, and it does not collect personal information about you or track you across other apps or websites. Articles you save are stored only on your device.

Information the app collects

None that identifies you. The App does not ask you to create an account, and it does not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers. We do not sell or share personal information, because we don’t collect it.

On-device data. Content you bookmark for offline reading is stored locally on your device in the App’s Saved tab. It is not transmitted to us and is removed if you delete the App.

Content and connectivity

The App loads travel guides, stories and images from our Website. When your device requests this content, standard technical information required to deliver a web request (such as your device’s IP address and general request details) is processed by our hosting and content-delivery providers to serve the content and keep the service secure. This is the ordinary operation of the internet and is not used to build a profile of you.

Sharing features (Facebook)

The App includes Facebook’s sharing tools so you can share a story if you choose to. These tools are only used when you actively tap a share option. When you share, limited information necessary to complete the share may be processed by Facebook (Meta) under their own privacy policy. If you never use the share feature, no data is sent to Facebook through it.

The website

Our Website may use standard cookies and privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic and improve the site. These apply to the Website in a browser and are separate from the App. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Children

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention and your rights

Because the App does not collect personal information, there is no personal profile for us to retain, correct, or delete. Saved content lives on your device and is fully under your control.
